I should put in my consideration that this valued employee is in need for money because of his upcoming retirement. Firstly I will approach this employee in an indirect way and ask him about his financial status without informing the company, I will try to obtain as many information as possible to weight out the reason of stealing a company's item, Then I will confront him about the thifts that has been happening lately but without pointing out fingers and saying that he is the one who did it.
Secondly, I will act like as if I am in need of an electric drill to fix a couple of things around my house and the one which is show cased in the company's auction is fitting for my needs. He (out of good heart) will offer me to use his drill, Which is the one he stole furthermore I will accept his offer and take back the drill but I will instead put it back into the company's auction and buy it.
Finally, At the day of the auction the company will notice that the drill is there intact and good, The auction will resume, Throughout the action I will bid a high bidding on the electric drill that I borrowed from the employee, After the auction I will collect The electric drill and Give it to the employee and tell him that He should be more careful about these kinds of actions because they might ruin his file and might lead him into suspension which will result of him losing his job and retirnment benefits, After that I will ask him to bring back all the stolen items without noticing any other company employee and without telling the managers To keep his file clean. Thank you.
